About the show

_

Come forward, little one. Kneel.

Blessed be the Womb that bleeds,

Blessed be the Tongue that feeds,

Blessed be the Hand that severs,

And the Skin that never sleeps.

Praise be to the Flesh that devours,

Praise be to the Seed that flowers,

Praise be to the One that burns,

And the Soul that never returns.

_

Here, where the fields stretch silently for miles and the night comes moist and heavy, in the stillness of a forgotten rural American town, something stirs. The moon rises and lanterns flicker to life. Somewhere beyond the last mailbox, a congregation gathers.

They move in unison, barefoot in the dirt. Hair matted, hands charred and ready. They chant words passed down from tongues long gone. Pale faces tilt skyward. The bodies tell their own gospel. Skin becomes scripture, breath becomes prayer. The air thickens. Something ancient stirs beneath the soil — something that was never meant to be unearthed.

Drawing inspiration from real cult phenomena, Americana, and religious horror, CULT explores what happens when devotion curdles into obsession, and when the human body becomes a canvas for belief. Through ceremony, ritual, pleasure, and pain, this new performance dissects the lure of belonging — and the bittersweet sensation of losing one’s mind entirely.

With this new performance Glitcher continues their path down the winding road of American pop culture mythology. Not seeking for answers but leaving a trail of affections, motions and strange atmospheres. Leaving it up to you, the audience, to ponder the question: Considering today's landscape, maybe a cult isn’t such a bad idea after all?
